Humanitarian Aid Program

Caldera Medical fully supports humanitarian aid and we are excited to make our implants and introducers available for this wonderful charitable cause. Urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse are serious medical problems in women all over the world. Women in developing countries generally have more advanced conditions due to the higher number of children born to each woman, resulting in more pelvic trauma.

Caldera Medical offers the Vertessa Lite Polypropylene Mesh for the treatment of Pelvic Organ Prolapse, Desara Sling System for Stress Urinary Incontinence, as well as a full line of robust reusable introducers made of surgical grade stainless steel. “The Sling Technique used was the Caldera Desara- Blue with the Reusable Caldera retropubic suprapubic trocars. Two sets of trocars were generously donated by Caldera Medical.

In addition, Caldera Medical donated  6 retropubic Desara-Blue synthetic meshes  for  midurethral sling placement. We used one and the team has 5 others remaining for subsequent cases. We are grateful to Caldera Medical for their support of the Female Urology Workshop in Cap Haitian.  Caldera has a designated philanthropic arm, which supports such medical missions.

Thank you again Caldera Medical for your philanthropy.” – Angelo E. Gousse  M.D.

“Thank you for your donation of Desara slings and trocars; the versatile design of the slings enable us to perform both TVT and TOT. The local doctors learned the surgical technique quickly. Without generous support from donors like your company, I wouldn’t be able to help those poor patients.” – Dr. Nguyet Ho

“The trip was very productive. I was able to perform 10 procedures in the short time I was there and trained 16 urologists and gynecologists at Al Awda Hospital. The people at Al Ahli Hospital couldn’t believe it when I walked in with the donated devices as they didn’t expect anything. Your donations made a huge difference in the lives of many women. Thank you again for your help.”

“Thank you Caldera Medical for your wonderful donation of Desara slings to the women of the Philippines in January of 2014. This was a very new procedure for the town of IFUGAO and the women I treated had severe incontinence. They were desperate and willing to be the pioneers. Their Shock and delight at their results was extremely rewarding.”
